THE Chamber of Commerce has created a task group to consider all aspects of a wide-ranging report on the retail industry.

The industry body's retail subcommittee met this week to take a first look at the Roger Tym and Partners study and its chairman David Falla (pictured) said Chamber might produce its own report as part of the consultation process relating to it.

'We are forming a task group to take this matter forward and we will be considering all aspects of the report so as to be able to respond fully to the public consultation requested by Commerce and Employment,' he said. 'We have only just started, though. We are engaged with this and are going to crack on to look at it in detail. It is a complicated matter and we may produce our own report on it.'

Commerce and Employment commissioned the RTP review to help develop an 'overarching strategy' for the sector.
