ANDREW HUTCHINSON was the star as the Emerging Players team shocked Cobo at the KGV on Sunday.

Cobo, regarded by many as the top side in Guernsey cricket, fell to a last-ball boundary from Mark Renouf, with the scores tied.

The veteran's patient knock set the young side up for victory, although several players made contributions, including Hutchinson with a 24-ball knock of 31 in those tense final overs.

He had already made stunning inroads with the ball earlier in the day, as Cobo were reduced to 17 for four early on in their innings, with a shock already looking very much on the cards.

But Cobo, who have a fine deep batting line-up, managed to set a highly competitive 257 to win, after centuries by captain Stuart Le Prevost and Jamie Nussbaumer, who shared a massive partnership of 220. Nussbaumer's innings included four sixes, which gave Cobo some vital impetus in the latter stages.
