The company, which operates out of studios at Bulwer Avenue, is looking for islanders to work in its new marketing, customer contact centre and payment processing department.

The job creation is a welcome boost for the island, following the announcement last month that 62 finance jobs were to be lost at Investec Trust as part of a phased closure of that part of its Guernsey offices.

And although none of the newly created roles at NetPlay is likely to be a direct fit for those without work in the finance industry, it has illustrated that the current job market is in a much healthier state than at this time last year.

The new roles at NetPlay will involve on-the-job training in specialist software, used by many companies globally, and also result in a number of islanders currently out of work finding employment.
