AN ISLANDER was yesterday left wondering if she would ever get her holiday in Spain after being caught up in travel disruption for the second time.

Delia Hall, 70, was meant to go on the holiday with her family last month but as the volcanic ash cloud from Iceland closed British airspace she was forced to reschedule. Her trip had been rebooked for yesterday but morning flights to Gatwick and Southampton were cancelled because of yet another ash cloud.

'If I don't go today this will be the second time that I have missed out on this holiday.' She was annoyed but said there was little she could do but hope.

Gatwick partially reopened yesterday morning following a night of closure. Restrictions on British airspace were lifted at 11am and flights from Guernsey to Gatwick resumed at 1pm.
