After the previous night's washouts, it was good to see two matches go the distance, although in fairness both were over as a contest long before the final ball.
KGV witnessed the closer of the two games, where St Saviour's beat Corinthians in a high-scoring encounter.
Newcomer Pete Burroughs was the star for the victors, hitting a brilliant unbeaten 73 from only 45 deliveries, with 10 boundaries thrown in for good measure, as his side set their opponents 179 for victory.
However, the game was still in the balance at the halfway stage of the reply, before a mini-collapse sparked by Ben Driver and Mike Savage left them with far too much to do.
