MICKY KING (pictured) continues to defy age and consistently produce the goods on the golf course.

The popular L'Ancresse member was winner of the club's prestigious Centenary Trophy in tricky conditions on Saturday – one of the few LGC competitions he had not previously won.

He came in with a nett 70 – one more than his age – to beat Curtis Le Noury and new island champion Danny Blondel on countback.

King has now reduced his handicap to four following his gross 75.

Blondel's excellent round off scratch was the lowest gross of the day in the Wave Telecom-sponsored event.

Another Blondel – Luke – won the junior cup on countback.
