A PIECE of the island's theatrical past is up for sale.

The former Little Theatre, situated on the hill behind the Guille-Alles Library, is up for sale for the first time in decades.

In 1984, it was destroyed by fire and Martel Maides has now been appointed to market the site.

The Victorian property was originally a school associated with the Town Church. After that it became the Central Hall and there was a house known as Oban on the site. Exhibitions, concerts and meetings were held in the hall.

After the Second World War it became the Little Theatre and was a venue for pantomimes as well as Eisteddfod sessions. Its final incarnation was Renoir's Disco.
