THE British Isles champions Locals go to this year's championships still in possession of their Tostevin Triples title after a tough second round of Bowls Guernsey matches.
Gary Pitschou and Len Le Ber (pictured), who won the British title with the now-retired Dave Lucas, went through to the quarter-finals with new teammate Mick Hullock by overcoming home side Moonrakers at the GBC.
The champions got off to a good start with a count of five shots on the first end, but this was pulled back over the next three by the GBC trio of Paul Sargeant, Steve Machon and Phil Schofield.
However, by the halfway point of nine ends, the champions were 11-6 ahead and managed to stay in front to return a 17-14 scorecard.
