Queripel has the last laugh on his old Cobo colleagues

WANDERERS took advantage of playing a Cobo Tigers side without several first-teamers to inflict a first defeat of the season on the league leaders.

The Ian Atchison-led Wanderers won by eight runs at KGV to throw open the title chase in the four-team grass ELT20 league and, it has to be said, Cobo brought it upon themselves.

Already without those such as Matt Oliver, Jamie Nussbaumer, Peter Vidamour and Justin Meades, they got themselves into a winning position – and threw it away.

The fourth-wicket pair of TJ Ozanne and Kris Moherndl were steering the side home when, in one silly over, Ozanne got himself run out going for a second that was never there and Moherndl holed out to his recent Cobo team-mate, Blane Queripel.
