Many politicians said they were frustrated by the lack of information and found out about the possible sale only hours before it was announced. Some said their only information had come from the media.
A detailed email was finally sent by Treasury minister Charles Parkinson to all deputies on Saturday afternoon about how the deal with Blue Islands would be a merger and some of the reasons behind it.
Members of the Treasury and Resources board who have been organising the deal support it. However, almost all other deputies have either rejected the idea or are waiting for more information.
