Track is packed as show is a success

THE inaugural Open Air Boxing Show at the Track on Saturday was a great success.

That was the view of Belgraves president Hilary Sarre, as well as the majority of the 2,000-plus crowd.

On a night that saw a string of quality and gripping fights, including most notably Alan Myers' titanic and at times brutal encounter with James Burns, Sarre believed that there were more positives than negatives to take from the evening.

'It certainly reached all of our expectations,' he said.

'There were one or two teething problems, as you would expect from that big an event. But everyone was delighted and the quality of the boxing was also excellent.'
