JAMIE NUSSBAUMER has enjoyed his first taste of county cricket.
The young Sarnian played for Sussex's academy side in a floodlit 50-over match against Lancashire at Hove on Thursday evening.
Although Sussex lost, Nussbaumer gained valuable experience both batting and bowling, as he explained.
'They batted first and got about 230 and unfortunately we fell about 40 short. But it was good experience.
'I bowled five overs for just over 20, and scored 18 or 19 with the bat at number nine, but I had to throw the bat at it because we needed 85 to win from 14 overs with two wickets in hand.'
