ORs took another giant step towards becoming Channel Island champions with a comfortable victory over Farmers-Caesareans from Jersey on Saturday.

The 23-run margin did not really do justice to how routine it was in the end, with the visitors to Port Soif never looking in any position to reach the required 242 from 50 overs.

With both Stuart Bisson and Lee Savident absent, Mark Jefferies (pictured) captained the home side and he was delighted with the outcome.

'We thought putting runs on the board first up and putting the pressure on them was the best way to go,' he said.
