'Talent is there' says outgoing developer Queripel

THERE is no shortage of young netball talent coming through, despite the island's recent dismal run of results against Jersey.

That is the view of the island's current development officer Gill Queripel, who is keen to step down for a younger replacement.

'I am going to be 60 in 18 months' time and I think it is time someone else came in after 25 years doing it,' said the stalwart who hopes that recent Guernsey Press adverts to fill the post quickly find a suitable candidate.

'The development officer needs to be able to get into the schools and identify talent at an earlier age as well as giving help to the teachers,' she added.
