REJUVENATING Delancey Park could seriously affect the development of cycling in the island, according to the Guernsey Velo Club.
President Gary Wallbridge (pictured) said the now informal park had absolutely everything the group needed to develop children's cycling, but he feared plans for three playgrounds and an adult fitness area would prove detrimental.
'We love Delancey Park as it is, it's an absolute gem.
He was keen to see the lower part of the park, towards the gun battery that overlooks the Little Russel, left as it was, as it included slopes and rough sections ideal for children learning to handle their bikes.
