Walkers and riders curse as Gypsy Lane is dug up

Gypsy Lane, St Martin's, is frequently used by dog walkers, horse riders and tourists but recently the track has been off limits to the public because GE has been digging trenches to reinforce its electricity network.

Area resident Graham Crocker, 63, an electrician, said he was angry that the work had been started right in the middle of the tourist season.

'I have seen visitors walking up to get to the lane and then having to walk back down again,' he said. 'They really should have planned this better.'
