Sarnian satisfaction

MISSION accomplished.

Winning an inter-insular is always a high priority in any season, but Guernsey were desperate to beat Jersey in the same year that their hosts had been crowned European Division One champions to prove that they are more than a match for their old foe. A convincing six-wicket victory at Grainville with a thoroughly professional team performance did just that.

'When push came to shove, we produced the goods today and it is a really satisfying result,' said a smiling Sarnian skipper Stuart Le Prevost, who hit the winning boundary.

Chasing a modest target of 195 for nine, Guernsey rarely looked flustered as most of the batsmen chipped in with useful runs, but once again the main contribution came from man-of-the-match Jeremy Frith.
