JOSH GOSSELIN has claimed his maiden UK win to give his confidence a major boost ahead of the Commonwealth Games.
He was one of four Guernsey cyclists who headed to Surrey to compete in two events over a weekend, being joined by Island Games hopefuls Leon Ogier and Philip Touzeau along with junior Alex Wilson.
The Saturday's 26-mile time trial was on a testing 13-mile loop in Staplefield.
The undulating course favoured those with knowledge of it. That combined with wet conditions proved a tough challenge for the Sarnians.
