Jersey Live sinks bowlers' 'Muratti'

THIS weekends's 'Jersey Live' is partly to blame for the big day in inter-island bowls – the annual Le Quesne Trophy matches –  not taking place.

Only once previously in 90 years of the sport's 'Muratti' has the match not gone ahead other than due to the Occupation years.

The only other time the team event between Guernsey and Jersey did not take place is believed to have been in the 1980s.

Today's instalment was due to have been played at Le Creux Bowls Club in Jersey, but it was cancelled when it arose that both boat and air travel was sold out due to the music festival Jersey Live.
