Ferry operators face tighter regulation

STRICTER demands could be placed on Condor Ferries, or any other ferry company operating in the Channel Islands in the future.

A joint review of the ferry market is being carried out by Commerce and Employment and Jersey's Economic Development Department.

Consultation about the ferry market in both islands drew responses, which the ministers will now consider before making statements to their respective States.

Tendering processes, timetables and how a ferry operator deals with complaints and delays could all be tightened up as part of the review.
