New head of St Sampson's High has big plans for school

PUSHING student results and improving parental support for pupils are just two of the aims the new head teacher at St Sampson's wants to develop.

Annabel Bolt (pictured) started at the school around three weeks ago.

With 13 years' experience, she takes over from former head teacher Hazel Tetlaw and leaves behind Springfield High School near Manchester.

Asked how the two schools compared, she said that having worked in schools in South Africa and Berlin, students were more or less the same anywhere.

'Children basically want to learn and it's giving them the opportunity to do that.'
