Alderney sergeant is dismissed

A GUERNSEY police officer has lost his job after being found guilty of serious breaches of the force's disciplinary code.

Sergeant James Priest (pictured), who was working in Alderney, was suspended in April for a non-criminal matter.

It followed a complaint made by a member of the public.

DCI Peter Dowding confirmed yesterday that a Guernsey police officer had appeared before a misconduct tribunal to answer five allegations of breaching the code.

'Having carefully examined all the evidence, the tribunal found the case proved on all charges,' he said.
