STUDENTS have been showing how a newspaper can have many uses by turning old copies of the Guernsey Press into a range of fashion items.
College of Further Education tutors set new access course students the challenge of transforming a pile of newspapers into something new. The idea formed part of a fun, team-building exercise for their induction week.
Teachers were amazed when they were presented with items ranging from handbags and trousers to coats and even a wedding dress.
The access course gives students with learning difficulties and disabilities the support to reach higher education courses or find employment.
