CYCLING team manager Rob Smart lauded his team as they all produced outstanding performances in 40-degree heat on Sunday.
James McLaughlin (pictured) was the pick of the bunch, finishing 20th in the men's 168km road race, less than four-and-a-half minutes behind the winner. Tobyn Horton was not far behind in 27th and Josh Gosselin finished 47th.
It was an excellent achievement as only 52 of the original 130 starters finished the race in the sweltering heat.
'They all exceeded expectations as a team and performed unbelievably well,' said Smart.
