La Mare 'still fit for purpose'
STUDENTS studying at La Mare de Carteret High School are getting a good deal, according to head teacher Ken Wheeler.


STUDENTS studying at La Mare de Carteret High School are getting a good deal, according to head teacher Ken Wheeler.
The school was built in 1975, and is one of three States high schools. St Sampson's High School was rebuilt in 2008, and work on Les Beaucamps could start in just six weeks.
La Mare is the last school due for a rebuild, and Mr Wheeler (pictured) hoped the momentum for that would continue.
'We don't know when the school will be rebuilt,' he said.
'We may have another five or six years here, and the Education Department is spending money to look after the school. We want to ensure that the children who are coming to this school are getting a good deal.'
