Gentle quits as Alderney manager

KEVIN Gentle has quit as Alderney's football manager.
Gentle, 49, resigned after several senior players advised him it was time to go. Alan Adamson, Gentle's assistant, looks set to take over as Bavaria Nomads and island team manager.
Gentle stepped down after leading the Nomads to seven straight defeats in Division Two this season. He said now was the right time to leave Alderney football.
'I've been involved for 20 years,' said Gentle, who took over as manager in 2007. After training last week three senior players approached me and said they weren't happy with the results. They said they wanted changes, so I quit on the spot.'
