Belton award highlights side benefits of coaching

THE Guernsey Cricket Board wants to get more people involved with coaching cricket to help deliver its development plan over the coming years.

The Coach Education Programme is set to run over three years and aims to improve coaches to work across all levels from in school through to the PwC Schools of Excellence.

'Teaching people and being part of an individual's development as a human being is a wonderful privilege, and one that can bring great satisfaction,' said Jason Shambrook (pictured), the GCB cricket development manager.

'Whether you are the parent of a child involved in the game, recently retired from playing or just fancy a new challenge, coaching with the GCB can offer you some wonderful experiences,' he added.
