ALICE LOVERIDGE took a significant step towards selection for the 2012 British Olympic team by winning 15 out of 17 matches at last weekend's Bribar Bristol Grand Prix.

ALICE LOVERIDGE took a significant step towards selection for the 2012 British Olympic team by winning 15 out of 17 matches at last weekend's Bribar Bristol Grand Prix.

Loveridge (pictured) and fellow Sarnian Garry Dodd gave good accounts of themselves as they both entered three tournaments, the respective men's and women's open, Band One and under-21 events and continued to impress against the national elite.

Loveridge opened her weekend with a title victory in the women's Band One.

She had to dig deep to get out of the group stage, saving three match points in the fourth game against Megan Phillips of Wales to win the group.
