THE island side's first ever manager is back in the role.

Peter Vidamour (pictured) has taken over the reins from the man who initially succeeded him, Dave Hearse, who recently vacated the role after a successful eight years in charge.

The appointment was ratified at a Guernsey Cricket Board meeting following a recruitment process led by chief executive officer Mark Latter.

Vidamour previously held the role from 2000 for three years, prior to the formation of the GCB.

His first task will be to work with coach Andy Cornford in scheduling the senior squad programme through to the end of 2011 that will see them play in the ICC Europe T20 competition here in the Channel Islands in July and Pepsi ICC WCL6 in Malaysia in September.
