CONDITIONS at St Andrew's School yesterday were far too dangerous to allow children to go in, according to its head teacher.
Linda Paley had contacted the Education Department to ask for it to be closed after an initial decision to keep the school open had been made.
She and the school caretaker had considered the conditions around the school and on the surrounding roads to be unsafe.
Originally, Education had announced that Forest, Le Rondin and La Houguette were closed. Blanchelande College also closed.
Ms Paley said the last-minute decision to close St Andrew's had been made in consultation with Education.
