Duo beat King's mark

THE snow and a 7.30am start did not deter the eager Beau Sejour Barracudas distance swimmers from competing in the club's annual 800m and 1,500m championships.
The women's 1,500m event saw Sam Herridge take the title in 19min. 27.42sec. ahead of Leah Winberg in a great personal best of 20-11.90, both finishing inside Gail King's record of 20-40.92 set last year.
Winberg was in great form as she chose to compete in both gruelling events and also placed second in the 800m in 10-18.88, another personal best by nearly 10 seconds.
The men's 1,500m title went to Tom Hollingsworth, who completed the 60 lengths in a very well-paced swim of 17-12.45.
