Ernst & Young achieves IIP gold

THE Guernsey and Jersey offices of Ernst & Young have become the first combined business in the Channel Islands to achieve the Investors in People gold standard.

The organisation achieved the standard IIP accreditation in 2003 and 2007 but has now achieved the higher level of recognition, which became possible following an expansion of the IIP framework in 2009 that introduced bronze, silver and gold levels.

Achieving the gold standard involved a representative cross-section of the staff in Guernsey and Jersey being interviewed by an IIP assessor to provide evidence of best-practice indicators in the workplace.

These included whether people were encouraged to contribute ideas, whether they believed their contribution was valued and whether coaching was part of the culture.
