The businessman (pictured) made the suggestion in response to news that the future of the open market will be reviewed as part of a public consultation due to start in the next few weeks.
He made clear his view that any move to abolish the open market would have serious repercussions for the island's economy.
Mr Eisenberg said the current system had served the island well and he would like to see the States maintain what worked, while adding to it.
