States puts £4m. into six-year homes plan
ALDERNEY'S new housing association has prepared a six-year plan to improve the island's social properties.

ALDERNEY'S new housing association has prepared a six-year plan to improve the island's social properties.
The organisation, which will be run by the Guernsey Housing Association, took over all 52 of Alderney's social homes in December. All are currently occupied and 30 households are on the waiting list.
Following a meeting with tenants this week, Alderney Housing Association chief executive Steve Williams outlined the aims. 'We've got a six-year plan that has been drawn up with the States of Alderney, which has budgeted to spend £800,000 a year on the association in each of the next five years.
'We're planning to invest finance into the refurbishment of properties and build some new ones. We will also demolish some properties and start again in order to improve the fabric of social housing.'
