Greens smell roses after coming through 'big one'

GUERNSEY cleared their biggest hurdle of the season so far with something to spare on Saturday.

Everything about the rugby fixture with third-placed Tottonians at Foote's Lane had a 'big game' air about it - from the atmosphere among a large crowd together with the pleasant waft of the academy's hog roast to the intensity of those on the pitch - and the league leaders certainly rose to the occasion.

'It was a really good performance,' said player-coach Jordan Reynolds.

'The only thing that lets you down on a day like today in those muddy conditions is handling errors but, generally, I thought we achieved a lot.'
