Town Church is packed as Jamie is remembered

JAMIE WHALLEY was a free spirit who touched many lives, his uncle said yesterday.

There was standing room only as hundreds of people packed the Town Church to say goodbye to Mr Whalley, who was 32 when he died in an avalanche at the Val d'Isere ski resort just over two weeks ago.

During the funeral Mr Whalley's uncle, Peter Norman, described him as someone who would never be forgotten.

'Jamie was my nephew, but he was so much more than that,' he said. 'He was my brother, my son and my soulmate.'
