TOP quality cricket action returned to the indoor cricket centre following the Christmas break and while Appleby 8s set a new ICG record for consecutive wins, it was the new kids on the block, Boatworks+, who stole the show in the first week of action in Division One of the Grant Thornton Indoor Cricket Leagues.
Boatworks+ are a fresh name to the ICG and are putting their faith in the future of Indoor Cricket in Guernsey.
In the first round of fixtures, the developmental side proved their capabilities by upsetting their more experienced opponents, Odey Rovers.
Rovers batted first and posted a solid score of 82, the highlight of which being the father-and-son partnership of Matt and Mitchell Le Tissier, who notched a score of 46 runs, batting at third pair.
