Admittedly, the deciding rubber was in the doubles as Watson and Jocelyn Rae teamed up to defeat Wozniacki and Mai Grage in an absolute thriller, but it was Watson who successfully served out both the second and third sets.
The final scoreline of 5-7, 7-5, 7-5 showed the competitiveness of the clash, with no fewer than 15 broken service games between the two teams, the match flowing both ways in Eilat, Israel.
After losing the first despite serving for the set, the British pair held their nerve in a similar second, before racing into a 4-0 lead in the decider.
