Rec coach sent to stands as officials take the flak

Bels 1, Vale Rec 1 THERE was so much hot air about the Track at quarter-to-four on Saturday afternoon that you could have flown a Zeppelin.

THERE was so much hot air about the Track at quarter-to-four on Saturday afternoon that you could have flown a Zeppelin.

Carl Le Tissier, the Vale Rec coach, got himself sent to the stands by referee Colin Gontier, who, along with linesman Keith Mitchell, also made themselves enemies with the entire Bels contingent after what appeared nothing more than a late flag for offside.

Neil Le Cheminant, one of two Bels stand-in coaches, lambasted the officials too, and beyond the final whistle the two sets of coaches got together for a handshake and a combined gripe about the officialdom.

The theme of their discussion appeared to be the number of mistakes the man in the middle had made.
