AURIGNY'S decision to challenge the rise in landing fees at Gatwick Airport is being supported by the vice-chairman of Parliament's Channel Islands group.

The airline confirmed last week that, along with Flybe, it would ask the Civil Aviation Authority to investigate whether Gatwick was discriminating against smaller airlines by increasing its fees.

Aurigny has said its costs will increase from £400,000 from 1 April, which will mean an increase in fares.

The job of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for the Channel Islands is to raise awareness of the issues affecting the islands and help them develop better relations with the UK.
