HEALTHSPAN will pull its financial support for Alderney tourism this year after it claimed the refusal of a new Southampton route had made the venture unviable.
But Aurigny, the only airline operating the UK link, said the move was an unfair reaction to an extra route that would not have worked.
Blue Islands parent company, Healthspan, planned to offer low fares to passengers and boost the island's economy in return for permission to compete with Aurigny.
But following the refusal, Healthspan chairman Derek Coates (pictured) said his investment in island tourism will no longer see a return.
