HEATHER WATSON has gone up another place in the world rankings despite her qualification defeat in Mexico.

She suffered a three-set loss to Lucie Hradecka as her assault at the WTA tournament in Monterrey ended in the second qualifying round.

The Sarnian lost to the world number 83 by a score of 7-5, 2-6, 2-6, but she rises to a career high 130 after beating Colombia's Catalina Castano in the first round.
