International trio to grace the GPL

FORMER England fast bowler James Kirtley is thrilled to be involved with the inaugural GPL, calling it a 'visionary concept'.

The former Sussex player (pictured), who retired at the end of last season, was last night confirmed as one of the professionals who will play in the Clydesdale Bank International-sponsored tournament, which will see four franchise teams compete over the four weekends in June.

'T20 is entertainment and we have got a big chance of providing massive entertainment,' he said at yesterday's GPL auction, which saw the teams finalised.
