ALICE LOVERIDGE (pictured) will after all have the chance to fight for a place in the 2012 Olympic Games after the British Olympic Association decided to allow British table tennis entry to London.

The BOA has stated regularly that they would only allow British sports to enter that could compete and would not use up the automatically allocated host nation's places if they did not.

Last week, officials delayed a decision on whether to allow in table tennis next summer, but gave the go-ahead at the weekend.

It means that team GB will field a six-strong squad, comprising three men and three women.
