A youthful feel to 40th celebrations

IT WILL be the youngsters taking centre stage at St Pierre Park tonight as the Guernsey Dinner Boxing Club officially celebrates its 40th birthday.

The latest show at the venue is a special gala evening and will celebrate the last four decades, but it is an inexperienced Guernsey team who will step into the ring in the 10-bout evening.

A Wales Select team are the visitors on this occasion, but the Sarnians are missing big names including Tom Duff, James Woolnough, Matt Jennings and Tom Maunder for various reasons.

Gage Demore is also not on the list, although he may still have a last-minute fight arranged come the night and would top the bill.
