De la Mare has a shot at three different titles

GUERNSEY'S wizard with the woods Daniel de la Mare (pictured) has caused problems for the organisers of next week's British Isles Indoor Bowls Championships by qualifying for a crack at the pairs, triples and fours titles.

But British Isles Indoor Bowls Council secretary Trevor Costall is confident that he can find a way of allowing the talented 24-year-old Sarnian to compete in all three disciplines.

'Paul Ingrouille will be standing by as a possible substitute if we really get into trouble,' explained Costall.

'But the situation has been eased because Daniel has been drawn in the semi-finals of all three events.'
