Incentive-based rewards

THE island squad is far from a closed shop, but Guernsey's elite cricketers are going all out in a bid to retain the shirt this summer.

Within just a couple of hours of their first early-morning fitness session with instructor Jon Le Tocq, word had spread like wildfire that a couple of players had brought up their breakfast due to their exertions.

Not to mention any names, but one was Mr Cricket himself.

There have been no complaints, though - far from it.
