BRADLEY WATSON is off and running in his professional career after an impressive points victory over Salim Salimov in Southampton on Saturday night.

The 20-year-old Sarnian beat the talented Bulgarian 40-36 on scorer Jeff Hinds' card, winning all four rounds of the fight at the Oceana nightclub and he will now be promoted by Frank Maloney for future fights.

Maloney is the man who helped promote Lennox Lewis to become the undisputed heavyweight world champion and has also guided four other world champions, as well as a clutch of Commonwealth and European champions.

The Sarnian is also likely to appear on Sky Sports in future fights, as he looks to make his way up the flyweight division over the coming months, with the British belt currently being held by Paul Edwards.
