Education steps in as pupils abuse their teachers online

PUPILS have been abusing teachers over the internet.

The Education Department has confirmed that incidents have been reported in the island.

A survey conducted by a professor at Plymouth University revealed that more than a third of teachers and other professionals working with young people in the south-west had been abused through the internet and social networking sites.

An Education spokesman said: 'The department is aware of a small number of incidents where staff have been abused online.'
