Watson eyeing French spot

CHARLESTON is the venue for Heather Watson's latest qualification campaign for a Premier WTA tour event, this time the Family Circle Cup.

The Sarnian should start qualification sometime today, as she looks to enter the main draw which includes many of the world's top players.

Currently ranked as the world number 123, Watson will be looking to improve that sufficiently so that she can enter the main draw of the French Open automatically. That second of the Grand Slam events starts on 17 May.
